Company Upstairs is a new Dance Theatre company bursting at the seams with talent and creative energy. Based in Perth, Western Australia, Company Upstairs is the brain child of young and acclaimed Choreographer Bianca Martin. In 2008 Martin brings some of the most talented dancers from around Australia back to her home city to launch this new company into the cultural landscape of Perth. Company Upstairs morphs entertaining physical choreography with inspiring accompaniment, meaningful design and humor. Company Upstairs delves into the depths of our culture, gendered national pastimes, the tensions and contradictions of love, and spectatorship of sporting and arts audiences, in an occasionally slap-stick setting.
